The Superintendent of Police,D. Kannan Chengalpattu District.  He was former SP, Special Branch. 

The victim SP woman IPS officer after visiting her headquarters was fumingly returning to Chennai to file a sexual harassment complaint with Home Secretary at Chennai against former Special DGP Rajesh Das.  D.Kannan, in his capacity as SP, Chengalpattu, intercepted the official vehicle of the victim woman officer with his Striking Force.   

He directed the striking force personnel to remove the keys of victim officer’s official car.   He then told the victim officer  that she should not file a complaint against Rajesh Das.  When the officer refused, Kannan insisted that at least the victim should talk to Rajesh Das over phone before proceeding to file a complaint. 

The victim officer told D.Kannan, that she would record this incident also that D.Kannan threatened her on behalf of Rajesh Das, Kannan handed over the vehicle key & withdrew. 

The act of the said D.Kannan as a mercenary to the sexual prowl Rajesh Das is more serious than the act of Rajesh Das.  

*Rajesh Das had begged before the en route SPs of Kallakurichi district and Villupuram district to stop the victim SP from proceeding towards Chennai. But both the SPs refused to oblige and obey this illegal instruction. Finally, SP Kannan promptly obliged Rajesh Das and scripted a dark chapter in the Police criminal history.*

The Committee formed to probe the sexual harassment complaint against Rajesh Das should also probe the role of D.Kannan, SP, Chengalpattu
