''எனக்குச் சொந்த ஊர் கடலூர் மாவட்டம் பண்ருட்டி பக்கத்துல புதுப்பேட்டைங்கிற கிராமம். அப்பா கைத்தறி நெசவுத் தொழில் பண்ணுறார். வீட்டுல நான்தான் முதல் பட்டதாரி. படிச்சு முடிச்சிட்டு சிவில் சர்வீஸ் எக்ஸாம் எழுதினேன். 2001-ல் எக்ஸாம் எழுதி 208-வது ரேங்க் வாங்கினேன். மத்திய அரசோட ஓ.பி.சி. பட்டியல்ல இருந்த பிழை காரணமாக எனக்கு ஐ.பி.எஸ். கிடைக்கலை. அதனால, எனக்கு குரூப்புக்கான அந்தஸ்து தந்து 2002-ல பாண்டிச்சேரியில டெபுடி கலெக்டர் பதவி கொடுத்தாங்க. தகுந்த ஆதாரத்தோட கோர்ட்ல கேஸ் போட்டேன். இதுக்கு நடுவுல எக்ஸாம் எழுதி ஐ.எப்.எஸ். ஆபிஸர் ஆகிட்டேன். 2010-ல ஐ.பி.எஸ்-ஸுக்காக நான் போட்ட கேஸ்ல எனக்கு சாதகமா தீர்ப்பு வந்துச்சு. 2009, 10-ல் சிவில் சர்வீஸ் எக்ஸாம் பாஸ் பண்ணினவங்களுக்கு ட்ரெய்னிங் கொடுத்தாங்க. அவங்ககூட நானும் ட்ரெய்னிங் எடுத்தேன். சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேல் தேசிய போலீஸ் அகாடமியில ட்ரெய்னிங் கொடுத்தாங்க. அதுல மொத்தம் 125 பேர் இருந்தாங்க. அவங்க எல்லாம் 2010-ல எக்ஸாம் எழுதி வந்தவங்க. அதனால அவங்க வயசு 23-லிருந்து 26-தான் இருக்கும். அப்போ எனக்கு வயசு 36. ஏறத்தாழ 13 வயசுவரைக்கும் வித்தியாசம்.



அவங்க இளைய தலைமுறைங்கிறதால அவங்ககூட சேர்ந்து ட்ரெய்னிங் எடுக்க எனக்குக் கொஞ்சம் கஷ்டமாகத்தான் இருந்துச்சு. முதல்கட்ட பயிற்சியில் பல தரப்பட்ட விதிகள், சட்டங்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட பயிற்சி கொடுத்தாங்க. அடுத்து துப்பாக்கி சுடுதல், நீச்சல் பயிற்சி, ட்ரில் மற்றும் விசாரணை பண்ணும் பயிற்சிகள், தடயவியல் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட பயிற்சி, கலவரத்தைக் கட்டுப்படுத்துவதுபற்றிப் பயிற்சிக் கொடுத்தாங்க. அப்புறம் ஏதாவது ஒரு மாவட்டத்தில் ஏ.எஸ்.பி-யா போடுவாங்க. ஏழு மாசம் அங்கே வேலை பார்த்து அந்த அனுபவங்களை சமர்ப்பிக்கணும்.



முதல் கட்டம், மாவட்ட அனுபவம்னு எல்லா செயல்பாடுகளையும் கணக்கெடுத்து மார்க் போடுவாங்க. அதில் நான்தான் நம்பர் ஒன். அதனால, சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேல் சுழற்கோப்பை கிடைச்சது. இதில் நான் ஒண்ணு மட்டும்தான் கத்துக்கிட்டேன். தைரியமும், துணிச்சலும் இருந்தால் எங்கேயும் சாதிக்கலாம்!''

Stolen jewellery recovered, two held


The Coimbatore City Police have arrested two persons and recovered over 100 sovereign jewellery on Monday. A special team of the police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime, K. Sugumaran, and Inspector, Saravanampatty, S. Elango picked up the two persons near K.G. Street when the they attempted to sell the stolen jewellery. Mr. Elango said that the police team got a tip off that two persons were at a pawn broker shop trying to sell the jewellery.

The team rushed to the place and arrested the two, identified as P. Palanisamy of Udumalpet, Tirupur, and C. Jayaraj of Allinagaram, Theni. The police said that the two had stolen the jewellery by breaking open Sureshkumar’s house in January this year and Rangaraj’s house in March this year in Saravanampatty police station limits. They had stolen 57 sovereign from the first house and 44 from the second.

During the course interrogation, the two told the police they camped with their families in residential colonies to identify locked houses. The women folk would first go around the area under the guise of selling brooms, toys and fancy goods. The men would follow it up with another round under the guise of selling mat. Once they were convinced of the absence of people in the targeted houses, they would drop screwdriver, iron rods, hacksaw blades, etc. in bushes near the house to pick them up later while committing the offence. The two would then go to cinema at night and proceed from there to the houses to break open the doors to gain entry.

Youth commits suicide

Alagesan, a native of Tirunelveli, committed suicide at his uncle’s residence in Ramanathapuram on Monday by hanging as he could not get a job.

The police on Tuesday removed over 800 members of various workers’ union who staged protest demanding implementation of labour-friendly laws.

The Second Additional District Judge in Tirupur D. Elangovan on Tuesday sentenced P. Murugesan to life sentence for murdering K. Mylsamy at Kamanacikenpalayam on March 3, 2009.

Shri. K.vijay Kumar IPSappointed Senior Security Adviser in Home Ministry

The Union government has appointed the former Director-General of the Central Reserve Police Force, K. Vijay Kumar, as Senior Security Adviser in the Home Ministry where he will advise on security and development in the Naxal-affected States.

As per a government order issued on Monday, Mr. Kumar’s services will be “utilised for advice in security and development in LWE [left wing extremism] theatre” for “a period of two years or till further orders.” Mr. Kumar has been entrusted with the job of advising in deployment of the Central armed police forces (CAPFs) in the LWE-affected areas, besides overseeing coordination among the CAPFs and State police forces (SPFs) for counter-insurgency operations.

In addition to charting out an effective “surrender and rehabilitation policy” for Maoists, the ex-CRPF DG would play an active role in training the CAPFs and the SPFs in counter-insurgency operations and jungle warfare, besides introducing technology, including weapons and equipment in the Central and State police forces.

Mr. Kumar will also suggest the government on “types of development efforts” needed in the Maoist-affected States to address “development deficit and employment generation for youth.” He will also be looking after media planning for management in these States, besides coordinating with other Central ministries and State governments. .

Mr. Kumar, a 1975 batch IPS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, took over as CRPF chief in 2010 when the morale of the personnel of India’s largest paramilitary force was at its lowest ebb following repeated onslaught by Maoists. During his two-year tenure, he helped the CRPF tackle Naxals through strategic operational planning, besides ensuring better coordination between the CRPF and State police forces.

The former Home Minister (now Finance Minister) P. Chidambaram and his successor Sushilkumar Shinde tried to get extension for Mr. Kumar as the CRPF DG, which was turned town by the Prime Minister-headed Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). However, senior Ministers including Mr. Shinde, Mr. Chidambaram and Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh openly advocated that Mr. Kumar be brought back in the government to ensure that the ground gained in the LWE-affected areas is not lost to Maoists.

When contacted, Mr. Ramesh told The Hindu that much is at stake for the Centre in the nine LWE-hit States. “We have pumped in huge sums of money through various flagship programmes, besides the Planning Commission’s ‘Integrated Action Plan’ in 82 most-backward districts. We can fight Maoists only through development and progress. Our efforts have started showing results as Maoists are retreating and people are regaining faith in the government … we cannot afford to lose this initiative now.”

The Rural Development Minister also noted that Mr. Kumar’s appointment as adviser in the MHA, specifically for the LWE theatre, was a positive step. “Mr. Kumar’s initiatives have brought in positive changes in the Naxal-hit States. He has not only defeated Naxals in warfare but has also helped in development efforts and in better coordination between the Centre and the States. We hope to see more such positive changes coming through his initiatives,” Mr. Ramesh added.

கடந்த 27-10-2012 அன்று சிவகங்கை மாவட்டத்தில் நடந்த திருப்பாச்சேத்தி காவல் நிலைய உதவி ஆய்வாளர் ஆல்வின்சுதன் அவர்களின் கொடூரக் கொலை தமிழகத்தில் பணியாற்றும் மொத்த காவல் துறையினரிடையே ஓர் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்திய சம்பவமாகும். துயருற்றுள்ள அக்குடும்பத்தாருக்கு ஆறுதல் கூறி பொருளாதார உதவிகள் அளித்த மாண்புமிகு தமிழக முதல்வர் அவர்களுக்கு எங்களது மனமார்ந்த நன்றியினைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். சகல தரப்பினரும் அமைதியில் வாழ காலம் நேரம் பாராது அல்லும் பகலும் அயராது உழைப்பதை தன் தலையாய கடமையென பணிபுரியும் காவல் துறையினரது சிரமங்கள் தாங்கள் அறிந்ததே. அப்படிப் பட்ட காவல் துறையைச் சேர்ந்த ஓர் இளைஞர் தன் கடமையை செய்ய முனைந்தபோது எந்த வித காரணமும் இல்லாமல் வெட்டிக் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டார் என்பது வியப்பையும் வேதனையையும் அளிக்கிறது. காரணமின்றி கொலை செய்யப்படுவது, கடமையாற்றும் காவல் துறையினர் தாக்கப்படுவது போன்ற சம்பவங்கள் தமிழ் நாட்டில் தலைத் தூக்கியுள்ளது.

இந்த நாட்டின் விடுதலைக்காக போரிட்டு மாய்ந்த தியாகிகள் இருவரின் குரு பூஜைக்கு சென்று கொண்டிருந்த நபர்கள் கொலை செய்யும் ஆயுதங்களை எடுத்து சென்றது, கொலை வெறித் தாக்குதலில் ஈடுபட்டது போன்ற சம்பவங்கள் சமீப காலங்களில் தலை எடுத்துள்ள, புரிந்த கொள்ள முடியாத கலாச்சாரமாகி வருகிறது. இது கடுமையான உடனடி நடவடிக்கைகளால் அழித்தொழிக்கப்பட வேண்டிய விசயமாகும். தவறினால் தமிழக காவல் துறையினரின் தார்மீக கடமை உணர்வும் தைரியமும் கணிசமாக குறைந்துவிடும் என்பதை முன்னாள காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகளாகப் பணிபுரிந்த நாங்கள் தங்களுடைய மேலான கவனத்திற்கு கொண்டு வருவது எங்களது கடமையெனக் கருதுகிறோம்.

ஆகவே பொது நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் பங்கு கொள்ள முற்படும் யாரும் தங்களுடன் எந்த விதமான ஆயுதத்தையும் எடுத்துச் செல்லக் கூடாது என்பதையும், அவ்வாறு எடுத்துச் செல்பவர்களை கடுமையான சட்டத்திற்கு உட்படுத்தி, இது போல் எதிர்காலத்தில் நிகழா வண்ணம் செயல்பட ஏதுவாக நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுத்திட ஆணை பிறப்பிக்குமாறு பணிவோடு கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறோம்.'
