சி.பி.ஐ.முதல் பெண் அடிசிநல் இயக்குனர்.

Archana Ramasundaram appointed CBI's Additional Director
"She is the first woman to be elevated to this level in the investigation Agency"
Senior IPS officer Archana Ramasundaram was today appointed Additional Director in the CBI, the first woman to be elevated to this level in the investigation agency.

It was homecoming for Ramasundaram, a 1980 batch officer from Tamil Nadu cadre, who had served in the agency as Deputy Inspector General and later as its first woman Joint Director and handled various cases pertaining to Economic Offences between 1999 and 2006.

Her name was strongly recommended by CBI Director Ranjit Sinha to the Department of Personnel, which oversees the functioning of the agency.

During her earlier tenure, Ramasundaram, who is at present posted as Director General in the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board, investigated Telgi stamp scam case besides other economic offence cases.

Ramasundaram’s name was cleared by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

After her return to the state in 2006, Ramasundaram, who has a tenure till October 2017, was made Additional Director General of Police.

She served in Economic Offences Wing, Administration and later in the CID. She was promoted to the rank of Director General in November 2012 and posted as the Chairperson of Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services’ Recruitment Board.

She was also the first woman joint director of the agency and deputy inspector general and later its first woman joint director.

During her tenure in Tamil Nadu CID, she along with her team had complied a book of important cases investigated by the department for 104 years from 1906 to 2010.

திருநெல்வேலியை கலக்கும் போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகள்:

முன்பெல்லாம் திருநெல்வேலி என்றாலே வன்முறை, சாதிச் சச்சரவு, வெட்டு குத்து, கூலிப்படை, கொலை கொள்ளை... என்பது தான் நியாபகத்திற்கு வரும். ஆனால் இப்போது அப்படியில்லை. கடந்த ஓரிரு ஆண்டுகளாக நெல்லை மாவட்டத்தில் குற்றங்கள் கணிசமாகக் குறைந்துள்ளன. குறிப்பாக கூலிப்படை பெருமளவு கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதற்குக் காரணம், நம் மாவட்டத்திற்கு திறமைமிக்க போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகள் கிடைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களைப் பற்றிய சிறு அறிமுகம்:

கருணாகரன் IAS (District Collector):
''நேர்மையின் மறுமுகம்'' என்று இவரை அழைக்கலாம். நிர்வாகத் திறமைமிக்கவர். சட்ட ஒழுங்கை நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவதில் தேர்ந்தவர். முன்பு கோவை கலெக்டராக பணியாற்றி, அங்குள்ள மக்களின் நன்மதிப்பைப் பெற்றவர்.

T.P. சுரேஷ்குமார் (DCP, Law and Order):
நெல்லை மாவட்ட துணை போலீஸ் கமிஷனரான இவர், 2013-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான காந்தியடிகள் காவலர் பதக்கம் பெற்றவர். முன்பு இவர், ஈரோடு மாவட்டத்தில் ADSP-ஆக பணியாற்றிய காலத்தில், மது விலக்கு வேட்டையை தீவிரப்படுத்தி, 3400 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மது விலக்கு குற்ற வழக்குகளை கண்டுபிடித்ததுடன், போலி மதுபான கடத்தலையும், எரி சாராயத்தையும் கைப்பற்றி, தமிழக அரசின் பாராட்டைப் பெற்றவர்.

விஜயேந்திர பிதரி IPS (District Superintendent of Police):
துடிப்பான இளம் ஐ.பி.எஸ். அதிகாரி. கலவரங்களை அடக்குவதில் திறமைமிக்கவர். புலன் விசாரணைப் பணியில் மிகச் சிறப்பாகப் பணியாற்றியதற்க்காக, தமிழக அரசிடமிருந்து சிறப்பு பதக்கம் பெற்றவர்.

சுமித் சரண் IPS (DIG, Tirunelveli Range):
பீகார் மாநிலத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இவர், முன்பு கோவை டி.ஐ.ஜி.,யாக பணியாற்றியவர். தென்மாவட்ட போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகளுக்கு நல்ல வழிகாட்டியாக செயல்பட்டு வருபவர். சி.பி.ஐ.,யிலும் பணியாற்றிய அனுபவமுடையவர்.

இப்போது நமக்கு இருக்கும் கவலை, நமது அண்டை மாவட்டமான தூத்துக்குடியில் சட்ட ஒழுங்கு மிக மோசமாக உள்ளது. அதையும் கட்டுக்குள் கொண்டுவந்துவிட்டால், தென்மாவட்டங்கள் அமைதிப் பூங்காவனமாக காட்சியளிக்கும் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை.

The government on Tuesday announced postings for nine Assistant Superintendents of Police on their return from phase-II training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad.

Aruna Bahuguna to become first woman chief of National Police Academy

National Police Academy to get its first woman chief National Police Academy, the Hyderabad-based alma mater for IPS officers in the country, could soon get a woman chief for the first time in its history. Aruna Bahuguna, a 1979-batch IPS officer, is tipped to be appointed as the new director of the 65-year-old institution, also known as the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), which is tasked with the training of police leaders. Ms. Bahuguna (56), who belongs to the Andhra Pradesh cadre, is at present posted as the Special Director General in the country’s largest paramilitary force, CRPF, at its headquarters in the national capital. The orders for Ms. Bahuguna’s appointment as the new director of the academy would be issued soon, sources said. The officer, who has served in various positions with Andhra Pradesh police, also holds the distinction of being the first woman SDG in CRPF. She is the second-in-command of the 3 lakh strong force, after the DG. The post of NPA Director fell vacant after incumbent Subhas Goswami was last month appointed as the DG of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Reputed police officers such as Sankar Sen, Trinath Mishra and K. Vijay Kumar have earlier headed the NPA. Once appointed, Bahuguna would be the 28th boss of the academy. The high-level board of the NPA comprises senior civil servants, police officers and eminent educationists as its members and is headed by the Union Home Secretary.
